J. Viewz is Taking an Organic Approach to Making Music

While some DJs spend decades collecting and updating their equipment, artist and producer J. Viewz's food-inspired music sees this composer instead heading to the grocery store to get his tools necessary for his trade.

In this video viewers follow Viewz as he heads to a grocery store to pick up a few kiwis, grapes, bananas and eggplants, and it's obvious that this isn't the run-of-the-mill exhibition.

Using a custom built soundboard, Viewz wires electricity to his chopped fruits and vegetables. His interactions with his vegetable instruments are then relayed and transformed into keyboard signals that he later turns into media signals.

All in all, this isn't a very complicated process, but the ease of comfort that Viewz can play with as a result is quite astounding. Saying that he's "never worked with a drum pad that was more comfortable and ergonomic than an eggplant," Viewz is paving the way for more food-inspired music mayhem.
