The team at Dubbeldam Architecture + Design are the creative minds behind the renovation project of the Flow House in Toronto. The staircase is the centerpiece as it is defined by sinuous curves which connect the levels of the home. It is the residence home to a ceramicist which extends the building at the rear side and top section to add more space for the family.
The team shared, "Narrowed interstitial spaces enclose, creating a feeling of compression, then open to larger spaces with lofty ceilings." The studio principal Heather Dubbeldam added, "Curvilinear forms are employed throughout – arched openings between rooms incite anticipation as they frame views of what lies beyond, resonating with curved walls, display nooks, the kitchen island and banquette – further enhancing the house's sculptural sensibility."
