Fashion imprint and art collective MSCHF is no stranger to bold designs and its latest does not fall short of that expectation as the Flipped Flop has a captivating silhouette. The shoes take a pair of pool slides and turn it into a sandal high heel. Lukas Bentel and Kevin Wiesner, the Chief Creative Officers at MSCHF are committed to creating things that are different from one another.
The shoes are made from a single piece of rubber that has a warped rubber sole unit at the base foundation which folds into it self. To hold it all in place is the MSCHF Performance Sport straps which are secured by a Velcro-style fasten. Bentel and Wiesner speak about the concept, "This kind of kickaround EVA athletic/pool/leisure/shower slide is one of those objects that exists as a symbol in people's minds. There are hundreds of variants made by every brand you can think of, and they blur together into an archetype that we then use as a building block."
