A Final Fantasy snow sculpture has debuted as the main centerpiece at Japan's annual Sapporo Snow Festival. The impressive sculpture stands 49.2-feet tall and features a design inspired by the classic fourteenth iteration in videogame series. Carved into the snow is a fierce dragon facing off against and armored Dragoon warrior. The sculpture is accompanied by a projection map of the game's world and audio playing the iconic Final Fantasy music.
The impressive Final Fantasy snow sculpture was built with assistance from the Japanese Ground Self Defense Forces 11th Artillery Unit, and is currently on display in the festival center at Odori Park. Final Fantasy XIV producer Naoki Yoshida debuted the sculpture during the festival's opening ceremony. This is the second consecutive year there has been a Final Fantasy instillation at the festival as a Final Fantasy VII display was show last year.
