The Femke Agema SS13 collection embraces the warmer seasons in an eccentrically theatrical way. As though comprised of costumes from a strange land or an exotic staged production, the designs are dramatically anonymous and playfully quirky. It is the perfect follow up to the fall-winter 2012 collection dubbed Nigliktok after the inuit word for 'cold.'
Titled 'Elders,' the Femke Agema SS13 collection was inspired by people's primordial emotional response to the onset of spring, “the simple joy we feel in being let loose into the wild to play in an environment overflowing with possibilities," as she puts it. From basket weaves to tent-like designs, the Femke Agema SS13 collection brings up images of common spring and summer objects and activities. Of course, they are not ready-to-wear outfits, but more works of art.
