Feather-Free Runway Materials

Vivienne Westwood Sends Vegan FEVVERS Plumage Down the Paris Runway

Vivienne Westwood is extending feather-free runway design with three Spring/Summer 2027 looks that use 'FEVVERS,' a vegan substitute for plumage, in its Body & Soul collection at Paris Fashion Week. For design teams working on statement garments, the material adds movement and tactile depth without animal feathers.

Kronthaler's line also presents FEVVERS as a continuous trim instead of loose accents, making the material easier to integrate into existing production workflows and closer to broader manufacturing use. The format builds on FEVVERS' earlier Paris Fashion Week appearance in 2025, when Stella McCartney used the plant-based material in its Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

Continuous trim turns a runway material into something fashion houses can spec into regular manufacturing instead of treating it as a one-off atelier detail. That shift widens the market for feather alternatives from showpieces to repeatable apparel production.
