Farmstr Helps Customers Buy Food Products Online From Local Farmers

Farmstr is a Seattle-based start-up that is trying to shake up the world of food retail by letting customers buy directly from farmers. The project aims to make it easier for Washington state residents to enjoy locally grown, sustainable food by letting them buy food directly from the state's 39,000 or so farmers.

Farmstr offers farmers a reliable web-based platform through which they can list their product and set their prices. They can then choose from a dozen different drop-off locations in the Seattle area. Customers can place their orders online and then pick up their purchase at a time that is convenient to them. This system allows customers to purchase foods directly from farmers without having to travel to their farms or to farmer markets, which many farmers themselves find difficult to attend.
