The Famatic Social Photo Frame Targets Older Generations

Staying connected with friends and family members in this day and age seems almost effortless, yet for some it isn't so easy; enter the Famatic Social Photo Frame. It targets older generations who love flipping through photo albums but simply don't receive as many hard copies as they used to.

Created by Thijs Suijten and Peter Rimmelzwaan, the Famatic Social Photo Frame connects to social networks such as Facebook and Instagram in order to display up-to-date photos and videos without having to join themselves. Similar to ordinary digital photo frames, users are able to swipe the screen to see more images. But in addition to connecting to social media sites, it also allows grandparents to interact even more by liking photos and leaving comments. The frame can even be coded to show photos with specific hashtags.
