The Evelo Omni Wheel Replaces Bicycles' Front Wheels

The Evelo Omni wheel is a bicycle that can be used to replace the front wheel of bicycles to provide an electrified boost of power. While the Omni Wheel is one of many powered wheels in the works for non-electric bicycles, its developers believe it could be the first to market.

The Evelo Omni Wheel has a powerful 350 Watt motor and can produce speeds of up to 32 km/h. It offers an impressive range of 40 km. Its battery size can be increased to produce an increased range of up to 64 km.

The contraption even comes with a wireless control unit, attached to users' handlebars, that enables users to control pedal-assist levels and keep tabs on speed, battery life and other pertinent information.

The Evelo Omni Wheel can be installed in just around 30 minutes. It is available for pre-order for $999, with shipping expected to commence in 2015.
