The ASPCA — also known as The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® — has launched ASPCA ShopKind, a free digital tool designed to amplify ethical grocery shopping.
ASPCA ShopKind helps individuals locate more humanely raised meat, eggs, and dairy products from over 250 farms and brands that adhere to stringent welfare standards. This free, interactive platform combines geolocated data across more than 34,000 locations nationwide, enabling users to find verified higher-welfare products from local stores, farms, farmers' markets, and online retailers. It also includes a function to build and share a personalised shopping list for future reference.
The ethical grocery tool replaces the ASPCA's previous Shop With Your Heart program. The digital solution delivers enhanced functionality such as filters to identify products like eggs produced without male chick culling and chicken from breeds raised with improved welfare, as well as guidance on decoding food labels and opting for pasture-raised and plant-based alternatives.
