Esports Wales Offers the New Esports Leaders Award Course

Esports Wales has introduced an innovative qualification program in partnership with Agored Cymru, designed to equip young learners with industry-specific skills and knowledge tailored for careers in the rapidly evolving field of esports. The Agored Cymru Award in Esports Leadership, a Level 3 qualification, launched on November 1, 2024, and is now available to students aged 16 and over across secondary schools, colleges, and universities in Wales.

The 60-hour curriculum goes beyond basic esports knowledge, offering comprehensive training in organizing and managing esports events. Additionally, the course introduces participants to the broader esports ecosystem, including a deep dive into its primary stakeholders, governance structures, and the operational standards expected in professional tournament settings. A key component of the program emphasizes ethical practices.
