This mirrored maze created by Es Devlin is a sophisticated diversion from the ones seen creating illusions for visitors at circuses and carnivals.
The interactive installation, simply called 'Mirror Maze' was set up in a warehouse in Peckham and is infused with the scent of Chanel perfume. The work "was commissioned by 'The Fifth Sense,' which is a collaboration between Chanel and i-D magazine. The Mirror Maze will only be open for five days and features four different rooms that are linked by oval doorways, with films and mirrors providing a unique sensory experience for those who visit. The installation was designed to create an experience in which adults can sense their surroundings as children do.
With this project, Es Devlin has created an interactive experience in which visitors are able to momentarily ignore what they know about the constructed world that usually surrounds them.
