The Equil Smartmarker is a whiteboard marker that can capture whiteboard notes and stream them to computers and mobile devices. Gone are the days when meeting or lecture notes are erased from a whiteboard and lost forever.
The device includes a sleeve -- into which regular dry erase pens can fit -- and a sensor that is attached to a magnetic strip that can be stuck on one side of a writing surface. When the user writes on the whiteboard surface, the sleeve communicates its location to a sensor via ultrasonic positioning. The sensor then relays the notes and drawings to devices via Bluetooth.
