Stellantis is expanding its compact van lineup with the 'Citroen Berlingo Van First' and 'Opel Combo Start,' giving buyers a more affordable entry point with cabins built to work harder on the job. The new trims pair stripped-back exteriors with a redesigned interior designed to turn the van into a mobile office.
Unpainted plastic bumpers and a simplified grille keep the exterior budget-friendly, while inside the FlexiSeat folds up to free up extra cargo room. The optional ModuTable adds a surface that can serve as a laptop desk or a shelf with cupholders, making the cabin feel more useful during stops between deliveries.
For buyers, this means the base van no longer has to feel bare or purely utilitarian. It now competes on workspace utility as much as on cargo capacity, which could make entry-level commercial vans more attractive to small businesses and fleet operators who spend long hours in the cab.

Why This Trend Is Growing
- Mobile Office Cabins
- Compact commercial vehicles are evolving into low-cost work hubs, creating room for integrated desks, storage, power access, and digital tools tailored to mobile trades and delivery workers.
- Value-driven Utility Design
- Budget-oriented vehicle trims increasingly pair simplified exteriors with smarter interior functionality, opening space for brands to compete on practical productivity rather than premium finishes.
- Flexible Cargo Seating
- Foldable and modular cabin components are reshaping how small vans balance passengers, tools, and cargo, enabling more adaptable configurations for microbusinesses and fleet users.
Industries Being Reshaped
- Commercial Vehicles
- Affordable van platforms with enhanced in-cabin work features are shifting expectations for entry-level fleets and encouraging differentiation through everyday operational usefulness.
- Small Business Services
- Tradespeople, couriers, and independent operators benefit from vehicles that double as mobile workstations, signaling demand for cost-conscious productivity features in essential business equipment.
- Fleet Management
- Fleet buyers gain new options when base models offer improved worker comfort and task support, increasing the strategic value of lower-cost vehicles in high-utilization operations.
