Toshiba's new Encore 2 Write tablets are Windows-based devices that are designed to offer high-precision digital pen input at an affordable price.
The device comes in both 8-inch and 10.1-inch variants, with both versions offering 1,280 x 800 resolution displays at 188 and 149 pixels per inch respectively. Both versions of the tablet operate Windows 8.1, are powered by Intel Atom processors with 2 GB RAM and 64 GB storage and can last for 11 hours on a single charge.
However the stand-out feature of the Toshiba Encore 2 Write is the TruPen input, which utilizes Active Electrostatics pen technology to provide as many as 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity. The device comes with the companion TruNote app that allows users to take notes, draw or paint while using an uncomplicated interface.
