Supercross Looks to Add Electric Motorcycles to its Racing Lineup

The motorcycle racing competition Supercross will look to add E-Motorcycles to its event in the upcoming future. Supercross consists of motorcycle racing on a dirt track, currently, the sport uses only fossil fuels in its racing bikes. The first change Supercross looks to make is to transition its Junior Racing program from gas powered to electric. The Junior Racing program currently uses 50cc motorcycles and has been looking at more eco-friendly models that have the equivalent speeds to the models already in use. The company says the electric motorcycles are close to being ready for competition but are not entirely where they need to be.

KMT is a sponsor for the Supercross Junior racing program and has a model that could be used in competition titled the 'KTM SX-E 5,' which was released in 2018.
