Air France-KLM is taking a step towards the future with the development of its electronic luggage tag, aptly named the eTag. The eTag and its accompanying accessory, the eTrack, will allow users to not only keep track of their luggage no matter where it is in the world, but it'll also allow users to completely skip check in by doing it autonomously. This would shortcut the entire process prior to boarding the plane and give users peace of mind.
Travelling the way it is now is already stressful enough, so stressful in fact that travelers are expected to arrive three hours early just to make sure everything goes smoothly. The eTag would cut that time down significantly and never have to be recharged so it's a permanent solution.
