For those who like to stay on the up and up when it comes to technology, the Electree by Vivien Muller might seem very familiar. That is because it was conceived back in 2008 and the French designer even proposed a large-scale version to power street light and other similar public outdoor fixtures.
Now the Electree by Vivien Muller is a reality. Undergoing a few tweaks, for instance a white body, thicker branches and a wooden platform for devices, it is nevertheless very similar to the original design. It is outfitted with photovoltaic panels in place of leaves to facilitate the harnessing of energy. It can be pre-ordered now for delivery in December, just in time for Christmas.
