Refreshed Hybrid Racecars

The E23 Hybrid is Being Tipped to Improve the Lotus F1 Team's Fortunes

The E23 Hybrid is a new elite racecar being rolled out by the Lotus F1 team ahead of the 2015 Grand Prix World Championship. It is hoped that this car will help Lotus improve over their highly forgettable 2014 season.

The biggest change with this year's vehicle is that it will be running Mercedes rather than Renault power units. Whereas last year's car suffered from below-par power systems integration and software control, this year's car is said to offer improved "reliability and driveability."

The car is also claimed to offer far better cooling performance and better overall packaging, making it quite simply a faster, better and more reliable ride than last year's.

The car marks a statement of intent from the Lotus F1 team, with team CEO Matthew Carter saying that Lotus F1 is ready to "return to our rightful place at the pinnacle of the sport."
