The Syndicate Original Fall/Winter 2018 taps into militantly authoritative styles and dystopian literature for its silhouette designs, as well as its lookbook photography. The popular Ukrainian label references '1984' -- the popular and socially apocalyptic novel by George Orwell. The Syndicate Original's lookbook features a chilling and thematically relevant representation of its dark designs, which feature a dominant color palette of white, red and black with a strong emphasis on propaganda-styled graphic illustrations.
While some of the prints are indirect -- the black and white graphic of the vertically layered eye pairs suggest that Big Brother is watching you, others are a more blunt nod to the dystopian literature masterpiece -- the graphic print that incorporates the official slogan of 1984's Party: "War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength."
