Duracell Unveils its Duracell Powermat Adapter at CES 2014

Duracell showcased its updated Duracell Powwermat wireless charging technology at CES 2014. Wireless charging is still in its infancy due to expensive technology required to operate them.

Many individuals do not have the correct phone case to use the Duracell Powermat. Duracell's solution is a series of 'dongles,' charging receivers that plug into any Apple 30-pin, Lightening or Micro USB port so consumers can access the charging stations, which are currently tabletop embedded.

Duracell worked with Starbucks to install the tabletop Duracell Powermats and loan out the receivers so customers could try out the charging stations for themselves while having a coffee or a snack. The Powermat receiver is a huge step forward for wireless charging technology, an affordable -- estimated purchase cost is $10 a receiver -- way to charge your phone while you eat.
