Drunken Meadow Tea has come up with a clever new variation on the ever-popular matcha tea. The process involves combining oolong tea leaves with the traditional technique for making matcha to create 'Oocha.'
Matcha is the caffeinated tea powder that's taken the Western world by storm, by being incorporated into everything from baked goods to milkshakes. Matcha has historically only ever been made with Chinese green tea, but Drunken Meadow Tea wants to change that. Sourcing oolong leaves from Taiwan, Drunken Meadow Tea has created an oolong-based matcha. To make the matcha, the oolong has to be processed in a non-traditional fashion: after harvesting, the leaves must be prevented from oxidizing and then ground into a fine powder.
Drunken Meadow Tea uses Oocha as a base for a bottled cold-brewed tea beverage and also sells the powder loose for tea lovers who are eager to make the unique tea variety for themselves.
