DressX Launches App That Lets Shoppers Try-On Virtual 3D Clothes

DressX, an L.A-based digital fashion startup, has recently launched a mobile app that utilizes augmented reality technology to allow shoppers to try on and buy 3D clothing from the company’s digital marketplace.

The multibrand retailer aims to become the biggest seller of digital-only clothing, or what the company refers to as “screen wear.” Currently, the brand has over 1,000 products in stock, working with over 100 designers including Patrick McDowell, Gary James McQueen, and Paskal.

Though the idea of spending money on non-physical clothing designed for the virtual world may still seem unconventional -- to say the least -- it appears to be a burgeoning space tied closely to recent Metaverse developments. “ DressX is here to navigate how the fashion of the future will look in all kinds of multiverses,” said the company’s cofounders Modenova and Daria Shapovalova.
