Celebrated YouTube star Rosanna Pansino tests out the infamous Mountain Dew Doritos chip cupcake recipe in her latest food video post on her channel, Nerdy Nummies. While the combination of Mountain Dew pop, cheesy Doritos chips and cupcake batter sounds rather unusual, Pansino’s verdict is that they’re actually surprisingly delicious.
Pansino updates a traditional lemon cupcake recipe with the addition of a Mountain Dew-infused frosting and a crunchy Doritos topping. She made the frosting by combining sugar, butter, lemon zest, green food coloring and Mountain Dew pop. The neon green frosting looks quite bizarre juxtaposed against the cheesy nacho chips. Pansino’s reaction to her first bite was that the cupcake tasted surprisingly lemony followed by a Mountain Dew and Doritos aftertaste.
