Do Good Foods, an eco-conscious startup looking to offer "carbon-reduced" foods, has announced the launch of Do Good Chicken, its first for-sale product.
What sets Do Good Chicken apart from other chicken brands is that the company uses an upcycling method in which it takes surplus foods from grocery stores and turns them into healthy feed for its chickens. As a result, one Do Good Foods chicken is able to prevent close to four pounds of potential food waste, which, in turn, curbs nearly three pounds of greenhouse gas emissions.
The new lineup of carbon-reduced chicken products includes skinless breasts, tenderloins, drumsticks, drumettes, wings, and thighs. Currently, Do Good Chicken is being sold exclusively at Albertson's grocery store locations in Philadelphia.
