Architect Rafael de La-Hoz was thinking of the hot Spanish sun when he sought out to create Distrito-C.
This solar powered, self-shading office building is designed to provide a cool working space for 40,000 people. Using a special type of glass and panels that react to the sun's heat and act as visors, Distrito-C is able give employees a cool, comfy work place.
An added plus of this self-shading design is that the materials used also give the building a funky, architectural look.
