Discord has announced its plans to integrate into the Xbox console interface, making voice chatting while gaming easy and accessible. The integration will allow users to connect to Discord calls from the Xbox Series S or X consoles, but it is not a separate application. Users can also transfer calls from Discord’s mobile application to the Xbox system and your headset.
To access this functionality, Xbox users can navigate to the ‘Parties & Chat’ section of the Xbox dashboard, scan a QR code that opens the Discord app, and link their Xbox profile to Discord. The ‘Transfer’ option should appear, allowing players to communicate with their teammates via Discord on their system. This feature will appeal to Xbox users who regularly play cross-platform games like Fortnite, Destiny, and others.
Priority access to this feature will be granted to members of the Xbox Insiders Alpha or Alpha Ski-Ahead rings on July 20.
