Fans of Diane von Furstenburg will immediately notice that the Diane von Furstenburg Pre-Fall 2012 collection is a lot different than the designer's usual offerings. While fashionistas have fallen in love with DVF's signature wrap dresses and bold, feminine prints over the years, the Pre-Fall offering is not about femininity and practical dresses.

Ms. Furstenburg named her Pre-Fall collection 'Macadam Diva.' Macadam is the French word for asphalt, which perfectly describes the departure that she took from her usual designing techniques. This collection is more urban and downtown-cool than what fans are used to.

The designer told Fashionologie.com that her mission this season was to "conquer the city as an urban jungle." Well, conquer she did. "It's sexy and a little aggressive."
