The Blocks is a modular smartwatch that is designed to embrace the ethos of customizability and flexibility, with an innovative design that features components that can be moved around and swapped out depending on the specific preferences of the wearer.
Unveiled at CES 2018, the Blocks modular smartwatch features an array of modules that includes a heart rate monitor, flashlight, GPS, customizable smart button and an assortment of environmental sensors. Elsewhere, the device features an Android Oreo operating system and 1.39-inch AMOLED display.
The watch itself costs $259, with each module costing an additional $35. Not only does this modular smartwatch allow for extreme customizability, but it also enables the manufacturer to continually build and sell new modules to support customer retention and generate lasting revenue by tempting customers to add new modules to their watch.
