Smashbox's Shapely Custom Lipsticks are Printed Directly onto Mirrors

In celebration of its #BeLegendary lipstick collection launch, which involves the release of 120 shades, Smashbox let consumers create a custom lipstick with 3D printing.

Fans of the brand were invited to try their hand at the #BeLegendary 120 Lipstick Matching Game online and select their favorite shade. From there, they received a code that would allow them to redeem a free 3D-printed lipstick with any purchase made.

To create their personalized Smashbox lipstick, consumers were able to choose hearts, stars, signatures and more to be applied as a print on a mirror compact. To apply the lipstick, the product can be transferred with a brush or one's fingers. The fact that these lip cosmetics are printed directly onto a mirror in unique shapes could mean that 3D printing has the ability to absolutely revolutionize the way makeup is packaged and presented to consumers.
