These Decorative Spider Mini Cakes Feature Chocolate Cobwebs

Bakers looking for an elegant and tasteful cupcake recipe to make this holiday season that doesn't have any gore can test out these Creepy Crawler Halloween Cupcakes that use chocolate and icing to create a creative cobweb design.

The cupcakes begin with a homemade Devil's food chocolate filling for a dense and dark colored base. The cupcakes are then topped with a vanilla icing glaze that is turned a light orange using edible food coloring. Then chocolate is applied overtop of the icing in lines and pulled using a toothpick to create a webbing effect. To take these mini cakes up a notch you could add circular black gummy candies and turn them into spiders with black licorices legs. The edible spiders can be added onto the cupcakes or scattered around them.
