The Craft System Lamps Collection is like One Big Happy Family
Meghan Young — May 25, 2012 — Art & Design
There is no light fixture out there that has as much adorable personality as the ones making up the Craft System Lamps collection. Shaped like a bunch of mini robots, each of which could easily replace all of the minor characters starring in the Pixar film 'WALL-E,' the collection is like one big retro-futuristic family.
Designed by François Chambard of UM Project, a furniture design company based in Brooklyn, New York, the Craft System Lamps collection is comprised of 13 custom creations. No two are alike, just as it would be in a real family. Nevertheless, they do boast some similarities such as their tapered cube-like shapes and Corian bases. Each one took a couple of days to manufacture.
The Craft System Lamps collection was showcased during the 2012 New York Design Week.
