Agility Robotics Launches Its Digit 5 Humanoid Worker

Agility Robotics unveiled Digit 5, a general-purpose humanoid robot engineered for cooperatively safe work at scale and built on more than 65,000 hours of prior commercial operation. The design features a new safety architecture with proprietary AI, multiple sensors for continuous human detection, visual and auditory safety cues, and an independent safety controller that autonomously avoids, stops or assumes a seated position when people are too close.

Digit 5 adds substantial hardware upgrades including 40% more payload capable of repeatedly lifting to 50 lb, a leg redesign with cycloidal actuators, swappable ISO-standard end-effectors, and a 90-minute runtime battery that recharges in nine minutes for a 10:1 run-to-charge ratio. It weighs 284 lb, stands 5'11" and reaches 7.2 ft, and pairs with NVIDIA Halos for Robotics and Agility Arc fleet management.

Together these capabilities let a single Digit 5 cover full facility workflows from depalletizing to palletizing while coordinating with AMRs, conveyors and warehouse systems. The integration and safety features promise more flexible, human-compatible automation and simpler scaling of humanoid fleets for industrial operations.
