Kolmar Korea is expanding K-beauty sun care with a new group of cooling technologies designed to pair UV protection with immediate temperature relief. The company developed a menthol-free cooling ingredient made from botanical extracts, offering a longer-lasting cooling sensation while minimizing the irritation sometimes associated with menthol-based formulas.
Its portfolio also includes a proprietary water-drop technology that releases microdroplets of moisture when rubbed onto skin while maintaining an even UV-protective film. The formulation reportedly lowers skin temperature by about 4°C and suppresses subsequent heat-related temperature increases. Kolmar Korea has also developed a Jelly Sun Stick with a high water content and seaweed-derived ingredient, creating a springy solid format that cools skin by roughly 6°C upon application.
As extreme heat reshapes beauty routines, multifunctional sunscreens are increasingly combining protection with sensorial and skin-comfort benefits.
