The Container Guest House by Poteet Architects features an adaptive reuse of existing buildings and a fresh, modern approach to interior and architectural design.
This project was made for a client who wanted to experiment with shipping containers. This lovely little home resulted in a guest house with a large steel-and-glass window wall that sits at the end and lifts open to the surrounding landscape. The recycling of a “one-way” container makes it sustainable, including the materials used for the interior. The inside open room is insulated with spray foam and lined with bamboo plywood for the floor and walls. The washroom has a composting toilet. The rear of the container adds a little bit of greenery to the tiny home with wire mesh panels to be covered in evergreen vines.
