Xbox is expanding its controller range with the Xbox Nano Controller, a shorter gamepad built for younger players and people with smaller hands. At a little over five inches long, it keeps the usual Xbox controls in a body that's easier to pack for cloud play or multiplayer away from home.
Bluetooth joins Xbox wireless, so the pad can pair with a Samsung smart TV and still work with consoles. It also replaces AAA batteries with a USB-C rechargeable battery, which removes the need to carry spares. Pre-orders are open at £44.99 / $49.99 in markets including the UK and the US, with shipping due in early November.
At $49.99, the compact official pad widens Xbox Cloud Gaming by making a dedicated controller easier to carry and recharge. The smaller frame also makes hand fit a clearer buying factor in first-party gamepads.
