Quadient partnered with James Hall & Co. to install Parcel Pending by Quadient lockers across the retailer’s G&E Murgatroyd company-owned estate, with 37 locations already active and more planned. The units provide secure, 24/7 access for deliveries, returns and stored items, serving as local convenience hubs within existing store footprints.
The lockers support more than basic parcel collection, including prescription pickup, retail click-and-collect orders, key exchanges, and spare-parts retrieval. The rollout spans company-owned SPAR stores across the North of England and will continue to expand throughout the retailer’s network.
For consumers, the lockers reduce missed deliveries and allow people to collect or return items on their own schedules, removing friction from last-mile trips. For retailers and carriers, the centralized locker network streamlines parcel handling and creates a predictable hub for exchanges and short-term storage. The rollout reflects a broader trend of convenience stores adding service-based infrastructure to generate foot traffic and strengthen their role in local communities.
