Hydro One and the Coaches Association of Ontario Aim at Accessibility

Hydro One and the Coaches Association of Ontario have announced the launch of their 2024 Community Coaching Grant. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on coaches and organizations, helping them manage the rising costs associated with organized sports and making such activities more accessible.

The 2024 Community Coaching Grant offers up to $1,000 to cover expenses like new equipment and safety training. The announcement highlights the significant challenges coaches face, as reported in the CAO's Ontario Coaching Report, with over half of coaches citing financial constraints as a major issue and many organizations struggling to find enough qualified coaches.

Additionally, the Hydro One Safe Play Award nominations are now open. This award recognizes a coach who demonstrates a strong commitment to safety within their community.
