The latest Cincinnati City Murals are created by famous artist Ralph Steadman and add a bit of color and personality to the American city. Steadman, an artist well-known for his spatter-colored grotesque work, is the highest profile partnership of ArtWorks to date. He became world renowned for his dark-humored illustrations, featured in Hunter S. Thompson books.
The Cincinnati City Murals project brought Ralph Steadman's work to life in eight weeks, with twelve youth apprentices and three teaching artists. The result is a collection of three murals, containing politically-charged and interpretation-based messages. The classic color spatter technique has been preserved, of course. A highlighted feature in the Cincinnati City Murals is the other-worldly creature that encompasses both human and animal features and who is prompted next to a classic ink-stained headline that warns "A Bad Idea Knows No Bounds."
