Winery-Backed Chowder Cook-Off Contests

CRU Winery is Hosting Its Third Annual Cook-Off Contest

CRU Winery — a Central Coast winery known for its single-vineyard Chardonnays and Burgundian and Rhone varietals —has announced the third annual Chowder Cook-Off Contest. This year's iteration expands the competition to accept recipes from across the United States for the first time.

U.S. residents can submit their original chowder recipes through July 14, with entries judged on creativity, overall quality, and how well they pair with the winery's Chardonnay offerings. Two finalists will be selected to receive a two-night stay in Monterey, California, where they will prepare their recipes in person at the winery's Santa Lucia Highlands tasting room on August 22.

The Chowder Cook-Off Contest is open to the public, allowing attendees to sample the finalists' chowders paired with CRU's wines. Tickets are available for purchase online
