Life-Size Edible Statues

Karl Lagerfeld Creates a Chocolate Statue of Favorite Model

Filed under strange and perhaps slightly creepy (or touching, depending on a person's perspective), creative soul Karl Lagerfeld has commissioned a life-sized chocolate statue of his male model muse, Baptise Giabiconi. Made to promote the ice cream brand Magnum, which the designer directed a commercial staring Giabiconi and Rachel Bilson, it was created by chocolate artist Anya Gallaccio, who is known for her chocolate room.

Incredibly detailed, right down to the Chanel model's chiseled abs and lush hair, the chocolate statue is quite the tribute. Yet if the model is as delicious in real life as he is as a chocolate statue, it is no wonder that Lagerfeld has kept him close by his side for so long.
