The Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough variety is characterized by a filling designed to emulate the flavor of chocolate chip cookie dough and a frosted exterior with a swirled pattern. This offering had been absent from the market for a period of three years.

Concurrently, the brand is launching a new sub-line named Pop-Tarts Protein, which is formulated to contain ten grams of protein per serving. This new product extension will be available in three established flavor profiles — strawberry, brown sugar cinnamon, and blueberry.
