Graduate Fashion Show in Hong Kong Merges Culture & Modernism

The Graduate Fashion Show in Hong Kong this week was rich with clothing and accessories that both celebrated China's cultural heritage, like China doll umbrellas, and embraced ultra modern couture, with pieces like a white dress that looked much like the bubble dress worn by Lady Gaga recently.

Bubble dresses were spotted earlier this spring in Shanghai as well in a fashion show that included models flaunting galactic fashion by graduates at east China's Donghua University.

Implications - This event, which took place in Hong Kong, China on June 17th 2009, was truly an expression of the latest styles in the fashion world, or at least the Asian fashion world. But of course, due to globalization, the intermeshing of national design industries has enormous potential.
