Move over sriracha because Trader Joe's just debuted a smokey new condiment called Chili Onion Crunch. Packing big flavors and a satisfyingly crunchy texture, the new condiment is sure to become a kitchen staple.
Trader Joe's new Chili Onion Crunch sauce draws inspiration from the jars of chili oil with crunchy garlic found at many Chinese restaurants. Though it is made from a simple combination of garlic, onion, peppers and olive oil, the sauce is bursting with flavor. The dried onion and garlic helps to provide crunch, "while dried red bell pepper and chili flakes build onto that with complementary smoky, slightly sweet, subtly spicy notes." The olive oil then binds everything together for a condiment that is smokey, savoury, and crunchy—all at the same time.
