Kid-Produced Radio Programming

The Children's Radio Shows Entertain During the Ebola Crisis

This children's radio show is for children, by children and is the result of mass school closures from the ebola crisis. Pikin to Pikin Radio features child-to-child programming that educates and entertains with weekly broadcasts.

In an attempt to contain the ebola virus, schools and other places where the public gathers have been closed in Sierra Leone. This means children have been at home for the past eight months. A partnership between Child to Child and Pear Works Productions enables the Pikin to Pikin radio station to broadcast shows on a weekly basis that are made for kids, by kids. The children's radio project offers content for three age groups: 4 to 6 years, 7 to 12 years and 13 up. The programs will consist of stories, radio drama, poems and music, all to inspire and inform young people.
