Charge-Free Cruise Wristbands

Disney Tests Key to the World Wristbands Aboard Disney Treasure

Disney is testing wearable Key to the World wristbands on the Disney Treasure, replacing the plastic room card for guests who do not already have DisneyBand+. The bands are handed out at terminal check-in, letting those cruisers unlock cabins and charge onboard purchases from their wrists during the sailing.

Unlike DisneyBand+, the temporary bands are passive, so they do not need charging or Bluetooth pairing. They are issued only for that trip and go back into collection bins after debarkation, while DisneyBand+ remains a reusable option for future trips with a $35-to-$45 upfront cost per family member.

A charge-free band turns a small but constant cruise task into a simpler tap, especially when passengers are moving between pools, cabins, and dining rooms. By replacing plastic cards on Disney Treasure for some guests, the test widens Disney Cruise Line's wearable options without adding another device to manage.
