Elegoo has officially entered the Core-XY 3D printing game with the launch of its new system. Unlike traditional cartesian printers, Core-XY machines use two stationary motors to move the printhead across a horizontal plane. This setup makes the printhead lighter, allowing faster speeds and more precise prints.
The Centauri Carbon is Elegoo’s first Core-XY 3D printer, boasting impressive speeds of up to 500 mm/s with an acceleration of 20,000 mm/s². It features a spacious 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume, a robust 1000W heated print bed that warms up quickly, and a fully enclosed die-cast frame to maintain stable temperatures—reducing common 3D printing issues like warping. With this high-speed performance, it can print objects like a smartphone stand in 30 minutes.
