Loofah-Inspired Textural Sneakers

Caroline Hu Joins adidas on a Special SS24 Collection

Designer Caroline Hu works in collaboration with adidas for the Spring/Summer 2024 season to highlight the "distance and space between people." This artful notion serves as the theme for the designs and the designer shines a spotlight on a pair of shoes.

Hu remixes the classic Samba sneakers in a playfully textural way through the use of lace and pleating techniques. Through this, the sneakers result in what appears to look like loofahs along with the branded Three Stripes motif on the sides. Some elements are free of any frill, which can be seen in the traditional gum sole unit and the branded insoles. To round out the shoes are collaborative tags at the textural tongue unit.
