Cardiac Risk Screening Apps

The 'MeGeneRank' App Assesses Genetic Risk Of Coronary Artery Disease

A group of scientists and innovators over at the Scripps Research Translational Institute in La Jolla, California have developed an innovative new cardiac risk screening app that is designed to leverage established knowledge about genetics as well as survey information from users to go about assessing their risk for coronary artery disease.

The 'MyGeneRank' cardiac risk screening app calculates a risk level for users based on data from the 23andMe genetic testing database. Users are also made to fill out a number of surveys in order to receive their risk score as well as tips on how to improve their lifestyles.

Considering that coronary artery disease is implicated as the most common cause of death around the world, the advent of a risk screening app to assess genetic risk for this disease comes as welcome news.
