Cardboard clocks by John Helgi Holmergeirsson are an intriguing DIY project, that also allow individuals to explore the past of time-telling.
This cardboard clock was designed with an ancient form of time measurement in mind, known as the ‘Eykt.' This measurement technique popular in Icelandic culture divided the day into eight eykt or sections, each of these sections being three hours in length. Holmergeirsson hoped this DIY creation "would bring back this ancient technique of measuring time." The DIY clock is eco-friendly as it is made from biodegradable cardboard.
This build-it-yourself clock is the perfect DIY project or weekend time-waster. After you’ve assembled you’re creative clock, you’re free to decorate it whatever way appeals to your inner artists.
